2 Day Workshop
In āsana, prāṇāyāma, and meditation things are always in flux, left to right, up to down, ease to difficulty on layers inside and out. Using the breath as a stabilizing foundation of physical balance, we will trace patterns of movement and form through conscious and continuous connection to internal lines of alignment so that the legs and feet connect to the earth, uddiyana and mula bandhas manifest and the coccyx and kidneys become the expressive forms of a grounded experience of expansiveness and joy in moments of transition.
In morning classes, will begin with a simple prāṇāyāma practice followed by and exploration of the Ashtanga Vinyasa system of asana, following an empty thread of awareness through and between postures, and focusing on the intentional sequence of form, thought, movement, and breath that frees the mind, awakens the central channel, and allows a meditative flowing practice to naturally arise. The afternoons will include chanting detailed exploration of finishing and restorative practices that compliment and can be integrated into an active ashtanga practice.
